Hi everyone! So I got nominated by two fellow bloggers
(Amanda at Made of Codes and Nikki at Chibi Chic )At first I was tentative to

Of course, a big thank you to the girls for the nomination

I was nominated by two blogs, only one seemed to have a set of questions so I
will answer those!
1.I am a Harry Potter fanatic, the
books and the movies. Its really unbelievable how much I know and get offended
by people who don’t like it!
2.More obsessions, Game of Thrones
3.I have waaaaay too many Breaking
4.I am about to start my last year
of a 3 year course and still have no idea what I want to do with my life.
5.I hate tea and coffee, hot
chocolate is the only hot drink I like. (Excuse me, I love)
6.I live for Autumn/Winter simply
for frosty mornings and the excuse to layer clothing, but I live in Ireland so unfortunately
all it does is rain.

but I barely ever wear it.
11 questions from Amanda:
1. If you
could live in any country in the future, where do you see yourself living?
Probably the US. I have never been and I am obsessed with New York and
LA and plan to visit in my lifetime, living there would be even cooler.
was the last place you went on holiday? Cork City right
here in Ireland. It was a quick city break but very relaxing. I blogged about
it! (shameless self plug)
your favourite film?
Now that’s a hard question! I would probably say Good Will Hunting right
now, with Robin Williams fresh in my mind (R.I.P), but the Shawshank Redemption
is a movie I absolutely adore also. Bronson starring Tom Hardy is a favourite too.
the best thing about yourself?
That’s tricky, probably my sense of organisation. I am messy in terms of
cleaniness, but I always have my week planned out and when to get things done.
I am never late for an assignment. It’s a good trait to have, I feel.
was the last book you read?
The first Game of Thrones book. Currently reading the second and loving
it! 6. Who is
your favourite fashion designer? Mmm again a hard
question. I am more interested in street style than fashion designers, but I
like Saint Laurent. 7. What is
your HG (Holy Grail) beauty product? Definitely the
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in number 1, Fair. I can’t function
without this product, I use it every single day. 8. Why did
you decide to start a blog? I spent years
reading other peoples blogs and taking inspiration from them. I felt I had built
up my own style and was comfortable with it and enjoy writing about it, so why
not share that with other people! I definitely do it because I find it fun, not
for a career. 9. Shorts
or skirts? Skirts! Never
find shorts that I feel 100% comfortable in for some reason. And I don’t care
how nice they are, if I am not comfortable, they are not for me! 10. Who is
your style icon? I have quite a few that I adore. Charli XCX, Sky Ferriera, Rihanna,
Alexa Chung, I could go on forever! 11. What's
your favourite perfume? Miss Dior Cherrie, hands down. The smell just never gets old, it’s my
Last weekend I visited, with my parents, one of my favourite
places in Ireland, Cork City. We took a four day trip, arriving on Thursday and
departing on Sunday, as a quick family holiday at the end of the summer. I
thought it might be helpful to blog about what I know about visiting there and
it might be helpful to some of you who are considering visiting it!
What I love about
Cork City is the compactness. Everything you need is right there in the centre;
shopping, food, drinks etc. Not only that, but it is a stunning city and well
worth a visit.
It being my third time to visit and stay in this city, I feel
I have a good enough knowledge of the city to talk about it. This time I was
there, I stayed in the Ambassador Hotel, around a 10 minute walk from the city
centre. The hotel was beautiful, the service great but very standard in terms
of food. We usually went into the city for our meals which we ideally wouldn’t have
done every time. If finding cool places to eat is your thing, then it’s a great
hotel to stay in. Also bear in mind that the hotel is up on the hill, anyone
who has been to Cork will know what I mean, and walking back up if you are not
very fit may be a struggle. Another good hotel we stayed in before is the Jury’s
Inn, which is right on the quays and perfect for access to the city.
To change things up a bit, we drove to Cobh village on the
Friday of our stay. It was my first time there, and luckily the sun was shining
so I could see exactly how beautiful it is! We spent a good few hours just
wandering around the vibrant village and taking in the view of the sea. It is
definitely a must see, the view of Spike Island and the water is gorgeous! We
also took a walk to the Titanic Memorial Garden which was very small and
peaceful, but the perfect place to take in that scenery. We took a drive to Blarney also on the
Saturday morning, but decided against taking the tour as the weather wasn’t great.
The other days of our break we mostly filled with shopping!
I love shopping in Cork as St. Patricks Street and the side streets off it are
full of great stores we all know and love, such as H&M, New Look, River
Island, GAP, Marks and Spencers, Dunnes Stores etc. I came back with quite the haul (much to my
bank cards’ dismay!).
If you are an Irish gal like me, you know the importance of
finding a good pub on holidays! We have been visiting Larry Tompkins’ Sports
Pub ever since we started going to Cork and it is great for watching sporting
events and just relaxing and having a pint.
Overall, Cork City is a great spot for a quick
city break with the option of taking a trip to neighbouring sea side villages
to take in the beauty of the Irish coastline. I would definitely recommend it
and I am sure I will be back down there again!
As much as I love fashion I am equally obsessed with makeup, always searching to find a new look to try and spending hours on YouTube watching tutorials. Through all of these looks, there is a few products I consider to be holy grail and use daily and would be lost without.
Above is these makeup essentials; from right to left: Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in Vintage Pink, Collection Does it all 5 in 1 Macara, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in 001 Translucent, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in number 1 Fair, Essence Liquid Ink Eyeliner, Natural Collection Eye Lines in Black, NYC Bronzer Sun2Sun Bronzing Powder in 719A Terracotta Tan and Vaseline Lip Therapy Petroleum Jelly in Aloe Vera. Apologies for the products appearance, they are very well loved!
Starting with the face products and namely my favourite product here, the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. This product is well known in the beauty blogging/vlogging community and for a reason. I have gone through 5 or 6 tubes of this stuff and will be repurchasing again! The first swatch above, it matches my skin perfectly (which is a miracle as I am milk bottle white!), stays all day and has great coverage. One problem I have is the leaky packaging, my makeup bag gets destroyed by the product going everywhere! Other than that this product is perfection, love love love!
Second product for the face is the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. Another well known and liked product but it really does work. I have very oily skin and need a strong powder to keep my skin oil free for as long as possible. This keeps my makeup matte for up to 5 hours and with a touch up it will do me for the whole day! Perfect shade too, totally translucent. I am almost out of this product, will be repurchasing very soon!
Final face product is the NYC bronzer. Have had this product for a long time and always come back to it. This shade works to give my face some definition when I am pale and also when I am darker with self-tanner. There is a slight shimmer but nothing too noticeable. It brightens my complexion just how I like and warms up my skin and gives it life. Another product I need to repurchase as I am very low on the lighter shade side!
On to eye products, and starting with my favourite again, is the Collection Does It All 5 in 1 Mascara. I bought this mascara a couple of months ago after seeing it on Shaaanxo's channel on YouTube and fell in love! I have quite short, straight lashes and this mascara gives them life. The wand, shown above, its thick enough to give good volume but thin enough to separate and lengthen also. It also has a little ball on the end which is great for getting hard to reach lashes and your bottom lashes. Very black and doesn't clump easily, I think its absolutely perfect. It is so inexpensive as well, you can't go wrong.
Next is the Natural Collection black eyeliner. As a lover of black eyeliner and dark eye makeup, I try a lot of eyeliners. The third swatch above, this one I love because its very creamy and easy to smudge and build up. Not the most long lasting but I find after building up layers of it, it last pretty well. Super cheap as well, so if you are looking to try a new liner and you do a lot of smokey, grungy types of looks this is worth giving a go!
Last eye product is the Essence liquid eyeliner. I love a good winged liner but I am pretty bad at the application! I love this product because it is easy for me to use, it has a brush applicator, and the colour is totally black. It last pretty well on me without smudging everywhere too. It is swatched between the concealer and pencil eyeliner above. This was another recommended purchase from a fantastic Irish blogger Leanne Woodfull (as if you don't know her!).
On to the last two products, the lip products. Starting with the Aloe Vera Vaseline, this seems like an obvious product but this Aloe Vera version I have used for years and nothing compares. It smells and tastes great and in the winter months when my lips can get very dry, this saves them every time! Forever obsessed with this, again very inexpensive and just a must have product to have with me at all times.
Final product in my makeup essentials is this Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in the shade Vintage Pink. The shade is a pink with purple undertones and can look more to pink or more purple depending on the application. I don't tend to wear lipstick everyday, but if I do it will be this. I find this so versatile, I can wear it totally opaque for a purple/pink lip, or dab a little on to have a "my lips but better" shade. I'm not a fan of a very nude lip but this shade I go back to time and time again for that under-stated look. It is shown above and also as the last swatch on my hand.
I hope you enjoyed this post on my makeup essentials! Let me know what you thought in the comments and anything else you would like to see. Thank you!
